Skidmore Row House
Kim Payne Allen with GKV Architects
New York, NY
Skidmore House received landmark status from New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission in 1970 and it is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places. As such, GKV Architects worked closely with the Landmarks Preservation Commission and conservationists to design the restoration of the original building, utilizing drawings from 1845 by the original architects to learn how the building was intended. Today, the 9,200 square feet landmark has been fully restored and adapted into unique apartments, featuring studio, 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom units.
