Bayou St.John Cottage Home

New Orleans, LA

Studio BKA re-imaged their home and offices along Bayou St.John in New Orleans. The original 1950s structure was completed gutted and renovated to expand from a two-bedroom, one bathroom home to a three-bedroom, two bathroom home. The architects rearranging the living quarters and vaulted the ceilings along the north west corner of the house, maximizing day-lighting and exposure to the rear yard. A master bathroom was created by enclosing the existing front porch. Entry was rerouted through side which is common in the shotgun style homes along the bayou.
