New Orleans, LA

A quirky yet cool camelback addition to a 1940s bungalow-style home was designed for our clients. Overlooking the Fairgrounds (Jazz Fest) in the Esplanade Ridge neighborhood of New Orleans, the program included a semi-private cedar wrapped porch, guest bedroom, half bath, and a workshop which sits on the second floor. The owner asked for lots of natural light and an industrial vibe for the interiors. We vaulted the off-centered ceiling for a space with extra volume. The exterior is clad with fiber-cement board in a typical siding pattern and a board and batten siding with craftsman style eave detailing. Adding to the personality of this camelback addition, the home is painted in tropical inspired coral and blue colors.
